254: Why Risk It?

20 page Comic Book (Graphic Novel) -  Measures: 6½" x 10½"
Age: Upper Elementary, Middle School

Not All Kids Do Drugs! Know the Consequences

Why Risk It? is a mix of cartoons and real photos featuring Safetypup®. This comic book stresses that not all kids use drugs and it concentrates on the consequences of drug use.

Comic books can hook early readers with cool illustrations and easy-to-follow stories. They can be the variety kids need to encourage them to read about important topics that were not as interesting when presented in other ways. They divide up the text into manageable chunks, supported by images, which help readers increase their comprehension through the connection between words and images.

Topics: Alcohol; Tobacco; Marijuana; Inhalants; Steroids; Over-the-Counter Drugs; Prescription Drugs; Peer Pressure; How to Say “NO” and Mean it; Bullies; Safety Friends; Choosing Good Friends; Think for Yourself; Texting and Driving; Drinking and Driving; Distracted Driving; Zero Tolerance; Secondhand Smoke; Spitting Tobacco; Chewing Tobacco; Dissolvables; Addiction; Supplements; Sports; Consequences; Vaping, and e-cigarettes.
