201: Becky®'s Book

24-page Safety Manual -  Measures: 11" x 8½"
Age: Lower Elementary

About Drugs & Good Health

This book, featuring Safetypup® and Becky® the giraffe, explains the proper place for drugs and medicines in children’s lives. Becky’s® Book also emphasizes the importance of being kind and making good choices, explains why rules are important in helping us make good decisions, and ways to cope when you may get upset or angry. This book can be used as a basis for discussion between adults and children while talking about the pictures, reading the rhymes, then coloring the page or completing the activity. The Lesson Guide provides information for further discussion and extra projects to reinforce the concepts.

It is important that we reach children with this concept as early as possible during the formative years, so any subsequent experiences with drugs and medicines will trigger automatic recall of safe responses.

Topics: You are Special; Safety Leaders; Healthy Habits; Rules Keep us Safe; Listen to Yourself - Dares; Medicine - Drugs; Only Take Medicine - Drugs Given to You by Your Parent or Caregiver; Not all Medicine is Good for You; Poisons; Feelings; Review.
