Our mission at NCSC is to prevent needless accidents and to help save lives by providing local law enforcement departments with meaningful safety educational materials and programs for children, adults, and seniors.

NCSC is the oldest and largest 501(c)(3) federal tax-exempt, not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to the safety of children. However, in more recent years, NCSC has expanded its program to include adults & seniors. The Council leads the industry by providing thousands of public safety organizations across the U.S. nearly 2.2 million pieces of safety material annually.

The Missing Children Milk Carton Program, initiated and coordinated by NCSC in the 1980s, created an unparalleled awareness of child abductions.
